Dear Parents and Friends,

What a spectacular Catholic Schools Week we have had! Beginning with Open House last Sunday, each day has brought something special to highlight our “Catholic” identity. From visiting homebound parishioners to hearing the vocation stories of Sister Mary Michael, Fr. Gary Gummersheimer, and Fr. Jim, to touring the Cathedral today, we have enjoyed a full week of great activities. Our “Change for Change” collection has grown each day, and I know that the money we collect will make a big difference in the lives of the children in our sister parish.   Thank you all for sharing in this great week, and special thanks to the PTF for the financial support to pull all this off! And thanks to Ms. Bette and her husband Jay for the delicious pancake breakfast Wednesday morning.

Our second graders are preparing for the sacrament of Reconciliation, which they will celebrate on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7pm. Keep these young people and their families in your prayers.

Internet Safety is one of parents’ major concerns today, and we hope to assist our community in understanding ways parents can protect their children from this issue. Tuesday evening, Feb. 7, we will host an Internet Safety Workshop in the parish hall at 7pm. Please spread the word to the community – all are invited to attend and learn how we can keep children safe.

Congratulations to our spelling bee champions – Rachel Lindauer (1st) and Taylor Smith (2nd)! The KC Spelling bee traveling trophy is now at our school, thanks to the endurance of our top spellers! Rachel and Taylor will compete later this month in the district KC bee, and we wish them the best of luck!

Reminders:

  • Students can bring Valentines to school on Tuesday, Feb. 14, to pass out to their fellow classmates. Class parties will begin at 2:30 that day.  PreSchool will have their party on Friday, Feb. 10, in the morning.
